Leah Schmidt is the Administrative Assistant to the Pastor at St. Pius X Catholic Church where she is responsible for assisting Fr. Brady with administrative duties by scheduling his appointments, maintaining his calendar, scheduling funerals, coordinating in-home marriage preparation, she handles all inquiries for annulments, adult confirmation and OCIA, and training volunteer receptionists. On a mission to serve our church community, she is focused on improving communication between parishioners and the pastor, and creating a welcoming environment for all.   For Leah, assisting Fr. Brady administratively so that he has more time to focus on the sacraments and being a shepherd to the parishioners of St. Pius X is the most rewarding part of her job.
 
Prior to taking on her role at St. Pius X, Leah gained experience in serving the St. Pius X community as the morning receptionist at St. Pius Elementary School and prior to that as the office administrator for her husband’s financial advising firm.
 
In addition to being at St. Pius X since 2021, Leah was previously a trustee for the parish.  She currently serves as a Eucharistic minister and sacristan.  Leah resides in Lafayette with her husband and together they have two sons, both SPES alumni, who reside in Houston.  Leah’s primary goal is to assist Fr. Brady and all who wish to meet with him.
