John Ray Perkins is the RCIA and Logistics coordinator at St. Pius X Catholic Church where he is responsible for RCIA, tech, logistics and live streaming events, recording podcasts. On a mission to bring the Gospel message to those entering the faith and via media to those who are no longer able to attend in person. For John Ray, having the opportunity to witness the God of the universe crash into His people’s lives is the most rewarding part of his job.

John Ray has served the Church for his entire adult life. He was hired in Youth Ministry in May 2000 at St. Peter’s in Carencro and served there until 2012. In July of 2012 he joined the team at St. Pius as the Youth Minister and in 2018 he moved into adult formation. During that time he also volunteered with Life Teen as the area contact to the state of Louisiana, a parish coach and trainer and as well as a Catholic speaker at Life Teen’s camps and conferences.

In addition to his role at St. Pius, John Ray is a local business owner and regularly volunteers with Catholic Charities of Acadiana. He resides with his bride Alesha and 4 children in Lafayette.
