When we hear other parishioners share their journey and challenges in answering His call to pray, we find that our ability to resonate with them can become deeply inspiring. Here are two testimonies from the 2022 Call to Prayer phase of the Call to Discipleship series.
The life-long transformative process of becoming a disciple is often referred to as entering or going deeper into a relationship with Jesus. To further explain the concept, here is an excerpt of an article published in Renewal Ministries’ September 2014 titled “A Personal Relationship with Jesus.”
He summoned the crowd with his disciples and said to them, “Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” Mark 8:34. In its sixth year of implementation at St. Pius X, this year’s Call to Discipleship theme lays out the steps we must take in being a disciple. In Jesus’ own words He instructs us to deny ourselves, take up our crosses and follow Him.
