WELCOME TO ST. PIUS X EDGE MIDDLE SCHOOL MINISTRY

WHAT ARE EDGE NIGHTS LIKE?
Edge nights are the BEST night of the week! Each week, we’ll share a meal prepared by volunteers from our parish, play interactive mixers that promote teamwork, friendly competition, and bring A LOT of smiles and laughter. Every Edge night is focused on growing closer to Jesus Christ, starting with a relevant talk from one of our team members about topics that matter and how to invite Jesus into our daily lives. These talks include Bible references, teachings from the Catechism, and important questions, which we’ll unpack in small groups with other students of the same grade, led by our awesome core team. These small groups are where real friendships, community, and accountability are built, providing a safe space to discuss the important things in life. Most nights will end with a intentional times of group prayer, such as praise and worship, journal reflections, praying together with our core team, a decade of the rosary, or something similar that brings us together. Each week will conclude with a challenge or encouragement to live out the Gospel, apply the Sacraments, and magnify Jesus to others.
Simply put, our EDGE nights our broken into four sections:
1. Gather 2. Proclaim 3. Break 4. Send
WHO IS CORE TEAM & WHAT DO THEY DO?
Edge Core Members are the heart and soul of our middle school ministry. This group consists of high school upperclassmen, college students, and adults. One of the main responsibilities of Core Members is to lead small groups. In teams of two or three, they facilitate discussions and activities during Edge Nights. Typically, Core Members stay with the same group of students throughout the year, allowing for the development of meaningful relationships. Our goal as the EDGE Core Team is to help middle schoolers begin the journey of taking ownership of their Catholic faith while building a strong community around them.
