The St. Pius X Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. in the St. Pius Elementary School Gym. No fee to enter and you do not have to register in advance. Winners have the ability to advance to the district and state competitions. The Knights of Columbus® Council 8901’s 4th Annual Golf Classic will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Farm d'Allie Golf Course (1235 Beau Basin Road, Carencro, LA). Registration and breakfast will be from 8:30 am - 9:30 am followed by a Shotgun Start at 10:00 am. Complimentary food and beverages will be available throughout the course. General Information
St. Pius X Council #8901 is associated with St. Pius X Church in Lafayette and currently led by Grand Knight, Mr. Michael Hare. For more information, you may contact him at 337-232-1801 or [email protected]. Soon, you'll be able to visit them at their new site, www.knightsofcolumbus8901.org.
The Knights of Columbus meet monthly on the third Thursday in St. Pius X's Parish Life Center across from the old Church building. The itinerary typically includes a 6:15 pm Rosary, followed by the membership meeting at 6:30 pm. Parking is available in front of the Parish Life Center, which can be entered from Lippi Blvd. or E. Bayou Parkway.
St. Pius X Council #8901 was founded in 1985. The members of Council #8901 work closely with the St. Pius X Elementary School (SPES) and the Parish (SPX), providing funds for various projects. There are also various activities which members can participate in, which will be published in St. Pius X's communications throughout the year. Some members have been with Council #8901since the beginning. Others have recently joined. All Catholic men over 18 years of age are welcome as the Council will need the younger generation to replace the "old guard."
The Knights of Columbus Order was founded in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, a priest at St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, Connecticut. Today, they are nearly 2 million members strong. -
