Safe Environment Initial Certification Training
The St. Pius X Safe Environment Program provides education and resources for children, employees and volunteers for the prevention of and recognition of child abuse. Parishioners who would like to volunteer for any activity at St. Pius X Catholic Church that involves children are required to be Safe Environment-certified. The initial certification process requires attending an in-person training session. Four (4) Initial Training sessions will be provided in September. Each session takes about an hour and a half. To be Safe Environment Certified, the diocese requires a background check on each individual, so those interested should come prepared to fill out paperwork including your social security number, and the names and addresses of (1) professional and (1) personal reference. After being initially Safe Environment certified, if you continue to be involved at St. Pius, an annual RE-certification is required. This is easily done online. Instructions will be given at the initial session. Packets will be provided for all who attend. You should register online at:
