St. Pius X Hosts Choir Concert

Take a break from your hectic Advent schedule and come be refreshed with a concert of a cappella choral music on Gaudete Sunday afternoon, December 12 at 2:00 in the afternoon performed by the Baton Rouge Early Vocal Ensemble (BREVE.) Founded in 2010 and now in its eleventh season, BREVE is dedicated to performing music written before 1750 in original languages. Since its founding, BREVE has performed a Christmas and a Lenten concert series each year, bringing timeless and beautiful sacred music to parishioners and audiences across Louisiana. The concert will include works by Bach,  Monteverdi, and Schein, as well as more contemporary composers such as Howells, Cecilia MacDowall, and Alexander Campkin. In addition, the audience will be invited to sing along on many popular Christmas carols. The concert is free and will take place in the church. Donations will, of course, be joyfully accepted.
