Time was created by God, for our world. It is limited – it has a beginning and an end. When we live in the past, we encounter guilt, shame and regret. When we live in the future, we worry and fear the unknown. When we live in the “here and now,” we can get stuck in secular notions like “time is money.” All of these prevent us from experiencing time as the gift that it is. The only way to truly experience the peace and serenity of life is in the present moment when we are in the presence of God – in prayer.
Last weekend, the Call to Pray phrase of the Call to Discipleship series concluded with an invitation to respond to God’s call to enter a deeper relationship with Him through prayer. Our response as well as our other prayer intentions require discernment and prayerful consideration. In the spirit of Easter, let’s call to mind all that God has showered upon our lives and pray for God to open our hearts and minds so we can determine how to best respond to His call as one of His disciples. By following in Jesus’ footsteps, may we find all the peace and joy from knowing that our response will help to build the Body of Christ and bring God’s love and compassion to all.
To respond to the Call to Pray, you can print or submit an intention card online at: https://stpiusxchurch.org/call-to-prayer#prayerintentioncard.
